RENTAL AND DEMO FAQ's

Q: What is the rental period? When can I pick up an item and when is it due back?
A: You can pick up your rental any time after 12:00pm on the day it is reserved. Rentals are due back at 11:00am the following day or whatever the agreed upon day is.

Q: What if I'm late?
A: Equipment returned late often creates problems for the next renter(s). Therefore, a $25 late fee will be assessed once the equipment is 1/2 hour late. If it is one or more hours late, additional day(s) will be charged at the full day rate.

Q: Can I pick up my rental the night before?
A: We do offer an early pickup of rental equipment for FREE; however, because it is possible that the bike is rented to another customer, we can not guarantee your item will be available for early pickup. If you absolutely need a rental item before the 12:00pm pickup time, we highly recommended that you reserve it for an additional day.

Q: What are the requirements for renting?
A: We require some basic information to be kept on file, including a cell phone number where we can contact you, your drivers license, and a credit card to be kept on file in the event that items are lost, stolen, or returned damaged.

Q: Do you offer discounts for long rentals?
A: We do! We offer a 5-day week, so you can keep the item for 7 days and pay for only 5.

Q: If I rent on a Saturday, do I have to pay for Sunday as well?
A: Because we are not open on Sundays, you don't have to pay for it! If you rent an item on Saturday, it is due back Monday morning at 11:00am and you will be billed for only one day. This also includes Holiday's where the shop is closed.

Q: What pedals are on the rentals?
A: Our rentals can be set up with flat, Shimano SPD or Crank Brother pedals. If you have a specific pedal you require, we suggest bringing them with you when you pick up your rental.

Q: Are helmets required?
A: YES! Helmets are always required when riding bicycles. If you dont have a helmet we will provide one with your rental.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: We require 24 hours notice to cancel a rental. If 24 hours notice is not given,  a $25 canceleation fee will be charged.

Q: Can I put my rental or demo fee toward a purchase?
A: Yes! Demo charges may be applied to future bike purchase over $1500 from Hyland Cyclery within 30 days of your demo. A maximum of 2 demo credits can be applied to a single bike purchase. We're sorry but rental charges cannot be applied to purchase.
