HYLAND CYCLERY is Salt Lake City's go to bike shop and a great place to work!  We sell great products and service and are located right in the center of Salt Lake City's cycling scene with amazing road rides and world class mountain trails within minutes of our front door. We are always on the lookout for qualified sales associates, bike technicians and bike assemblers. With flexible scheduling full and part-time positions are available.  Prior experience in the cycling industry is a plus but not required. Our most successful employees are quick learners, work well in a team environment, follow directions, communicate clearly and are flexible to evolve with a fast paced industry.

General Requirements:

SALES MANAGER

Summary:

We are looking for a high-energy individual to lead our retail team. To be successful in this position you will need outstanding customer service standards, strong communication and sales skills. Your primary work will be maintaining the sales floor and assisting fellow employees with bicycle and accessory sales as well as day to day store operations. You will need to be flexible and ready to handle a fast paced work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Must enjoy working with others in a team environment
  • Needs strong communication and leadership skills when working with coworkers and clients
  • Must have a good understanding of all types of bicycles and be eager to learn about new products
  • Integrity and honesty in dealings with management, employees and clients
  • Enjoy working in a fast pace cycling environment
  • Needs 2+ years of retail experience

Responsibilities:

  • Lead our sales team in providing excellent customer service
  • Assist in day to day operations of the sales department
  • Maintain store and personal sales goals

This is a Full-Time position. Pay is based on experience.

SALES STAFF

Summary:

Part-Time (>30 hours per week) applications will be considered but we are primarily interested in individuals who can work a Full-Time (30+ hours per week) schedule. Pay is based on experience.

PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN

Summary:

Top-notch bicycle technician needed to assist our well-respected service department. Our ideal candidate has 2 years mechanical experience and has a good base knowledge of all bikes.  Your primary work will be in the service department repairing and assembling new bikes. You may also be called upon to provide excellent customer service. Training will be provided where necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a team player and enjoy working with other people
  • Needs strong communication and leadership skills when working with coworkers and clients
  • Must have a good understanding of all types of bicycles
  • Must be able to completely tune a bicycle in a timely manner
  • Must be able to perform bleeding procedures for Shimano, SRAM/Avid and Hayes brake systems
  • Must be able to perform basic suspension service
  • Attendance and/or certification from a bicycle mechanics school is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Perform bicycle repairs and tune-ups
  • Assemble and tune new bikes
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Assist in day to day operations

Bicycle assembler needed to assist our service department. Our ideal candidate shows excellent mechanical skills and has a good base knowledge of all bikes. Your primary work will be in the service department assembling new bikes and helping with store operations. Training will be provided where necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a team player and enjoy working with other people
  • Must be a minimum of 16 years old
  • Needs strong communication skills when working with coworkers and clients
  • Must have a good understanding of all types of bicycles
  • Must be able to completely tune a bicycle in a timely manner
  • Attendance and/or certification from a bicycle mechanics school is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and tune new bikes
  • Perform basic repairs
  • Assist in day to day operations

Full-Time and Part-Time applications will be considered. Morning and evening shifts available. Pay is based on experience. You may be asked to perform a small "mechanical audition" with our Service Manager.
